"The only joy in the world is to begin. To live is to always be beginning, every instant."

There is a kind of comforting truth in this quote by Cesare Pavese. Starting (REstarting in our case) to move again will soon mean returning to living, even more intensely than before, the emotions that only a beautiful journey can give us.

Staying at home, at this moment, is essential. But no one can stop us from shaking off bad thoughts and imagining for a moment the vacation to come. The one that will finally take us back to the places of the heart, to the places capable of captivating us at first sight and leaving an indelible memory inside us forever. While waiting to see your ranking, here are our suggestions. We have thought of 5 little wonders of Trentino near Comano Terme that we also cannot wait to see again.

The Cave Hiding a Waterfall

Halfway between Comano Terme and Lake Garda lies a secret cave that encloses a magical waterfall, the Grotta del Varone Park. The sunlight filtering down from above creates an incredible play of reflections and colors. The walking path is suitable for everyone and branches off into two caves, revealing what is considered one of the most unique waterfalls in Trentino. The water flows underground directly from Lake Tenno before gushing into a 73-meter-high gorge. A truly breathtaking spectacle.

Nature awakens in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park

UNESCO World Heritage Site: a term as surprising as the place it describes! The Brenta Dolomites are a natural treasure that must be preserved and protected, but can also be experienced and visited through the many activities organized especially during this time of year.

Discover how wonderful it is to venture into the woods of the Val Nambrone, which opens onto the Presanella massif, whose wild beauty of peaks, lakes, waterfalls, mountain huts, and glaciers leaves you speechless.

Or plan a trip to Val di Fumo, which takes its name from the clouds and the mysteries that characterize it. Those who explore it go in search of mushrooms, flowers, and animals, but also the many charming mountain dairies with panoramic views.

The Nembia Oasis

If your dream is to lie on the shores of a mountain lake, immersed in nature far from the hustle and bustle, you simply must visit Lake Nembia. This pristine place at the foot of the Dolomites is enclosed by a circular route, surrounded by the typical flora of the pre-Alpine region.

A walk to discover the area's natural heritage: Scots pine, black pear bushes, and clumps of fescue and alpine daphne on the scree slopes. If you look carefully, you may spot alpine animals such as squirrels, foxes, deer, and roe deer, and even the imperial raven and the rare wallcreeper.

The Treasures of the Baschenis

The Baschenis family, originally from Bergamo, is famous for its art workshop, where fathers and sons have passed down the secrets of fresco painting for generations, leaving us with wonderful works painted on the walls of local churches. Trace their work starting in Condino, where you can admire the Cycle of Stories of Saint Lawrence, before heading to Bleggio to visit the Church of San Giuliano.

Continue towards Val Rendena and stop in Pelugo at the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate for a first glimpse of the theme that defines these masters of art and finds its greatest expression in Pinzolo, at the Church of San Vigilio: the Dance of Death. This is an exceptionally fine fresco depicting skeletons and men, including the emperor, the Pope, and several princes. A majestic work that approaches the theme of death with irony, transcending all social hierarchies.

Discovering the local wines

White, red, or sparkling wine? Whatever your favorite wine may be, there are many wineries near the Grand Hotel Terme di Comano that offer guided tastingsto introduce you to local grape varieties, such as Cantina Toblino.

The star of the area is Nosiola,a white wine that impresses with its immediacy and versatility. This native grape has always been grown on the hillsides of the Val d’Adige and in the Valle dei Laghi.

If, instead, you prefer a bold, full-bodied flavor, you can try Rebo, produced from a cross between Merlot and Teroldego. Its ruby-red color with purple hues and intense, distinctive aromas of forest fruits, with clear notes of blueberry and raspberry, make it unmistakable.
