How can I start a course of spa treatments with the National Health Service?

To receive spa treatments under the NHS agreement, consult your family doctor to assess if and which course of treatment is most suitable for preventing or treating the diagnosed condition. With the prescription issued by your doctor, contact the Information and Booking Service to schedule the admission visit and organize your treatment period at Terme di Comano.

What do I need to present at the Spa?

To receive treatments covered by the National Health Service agreement, simply go to the spa with your GP's red prescription, issued on a regional prescription form.

What information is needed in the prescription?

The prescription must necessarily include a pathology provided for by Ministerial Decree 15.12.1994 and the related course of treatment. The prescription entitles the patient to the course of treatment and the medical examination for admission to the treatments.

How many cycles does the National Health System cover?

The National Health Service grants only one cycle of thermal treatments per year (from January to December), with the exception of war invalids, service invalids, deaf-mutes, blind civilians, and civilian invalids with a disability exceeding two-thirds, for whom a second cycle of treatment related to their pathology or disabling condition may be authorized. A cycle of treatment that begins in one year and ends in the next is considered to have taken place in the year in which it began.
